My GCMS playlist

These are in order of when they were written!

1. In the Hall of the Mountain King – 1875

Edvard Grieg

This piece of classical music is very good, however it is also a bit stressful, a bit like school in general!

2. Fat Sam’s Grand Slam – 1976

Paul Williams, Bugsy Malone

It was extremely fun playing this song solo on the violin in Year 7 in our School Performance. Even though it was quite fast, it sounded really good and is one of my best memories of GCMS!

3. Mr Blue Sky – 1977

Electric Light Orchestra

This song is very happy and shows my time at GCMS in general. I really like it and listen to it on my headphones on the way to school!

4. Ice Ice Baby – 1989

Vanilla Ice

We learned this song in Music a few years ago and was one of the best songs we ever learned. Me and my friends still sometimes sing it today.

5. They Live in You – 1994

Samuel Wright, The Lion King

This song obviously reminds me of the Lion King, in which I play Mufasa and sing this. It’s a really dramatic song, and I think it is one of the best songs in the show.

6. Foux du Fafa – 2008

Flight of the Conchords

A few years ago when I was watching Flight of the Conchords, I came across this song and it is really funny. I was watching it around the start of Year 7, when we were first learning French, so I could understand parts of this song; enough to know that it was complete nonsense!

7. Code Name Vivaldi – 2012

The Piano Guys

This dramatic song reminds me of my birthday last year, where we played laser tag and this song was playing. It also reminds me of trying to print all the newspapers before the end of registration…

8. Man’s Not Hot – 2017

Big Shaq

This song was a big hit in 2017, and I don’t think this list would be complete without it. It makes me laugh, and everyone was singing it at school.
